• Kate Beckinsale Set for Small Role in Underworld 4?

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Kate Beckinsale is attached to star in the 3D Underworld 4, however, she is trying to have a smaller role so that she can “pass the torch” of the vampiress role to her 11-year-old daughter Lily Mo Sheen.

Len Wiseman (and Beckinsale hubby) is attached to direct the project, which stars Michael Sheen, and Bill Nighy.

Screenwriter John Hlavin says the movie will not be a prequel.

“It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don’t want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements.”

— Still we don’t know if the rumors are true or not until Kate officially announces that she has changed her mind and joins it.

This is my take: BD is always writing nonsense like this and the bit about wanting to hand over the reigns to her 11 yr old is hilarious.

Personally, I don’t think UW 4 will ever get made. Who the hell wants to watch Sheen chew scenery a 4th time? Not me!

I think it’s time Kate moves on from UW. What’s the point of a 4th one? It’s not like any of them were huge hits anyway.

Agreed.. I am a huge Kate fan (hence why I’m here) but even I can say the best UW film was the 3rd one, which she was not in, and Wiseman didn’t direct. There doesn’t need to be a 4th, the franchise wasn’t all that great anyway, and I rather see Kate move on and work on other projects, not repeat the same thing.
