Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Kate Beckinsale is attached to star in the 3D Underworld 4, however, she is trying to have a smaller role so that she can “pass the torch” of the vampiress role to her 11-year-old daughter Lily Mo Sheen.

Len Wiseman (and Beckinsale hubby) is attached to direct the project, which stars Michael Sheen, and Bill Nighy.

Screenwriter John Hlavin says the movie will not be a prequel.

“It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don’t want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements.”

— Still we don’t know if the rumors are true or not until Kate officially announces that she has changed her mind and joins it.

A British actress joined supermodels in a list of the world’s five most desirable women, determined by a poll by askmen.com.

Kate Beckinsale came third in the poll which ranked reality TV’s Emmanuelle Chriqui of Canada as the most desirable woman in the world.

American model Marisa Miller came in third, while Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio, who also models for Victoria’s Secret, came in fourth. Jessica Alba came in fifth, while Miranda Kerr of Australia finished 10th.

Chirqui said: ‘It absolutely stunned me. I laughed because I thought that is so crazy! It’s such a massive compliment. Hearing what that vote is made of is the biggest compliment of all – because it’s not just about being considered ‘hot’ but also about being a well-rounded woman. That’s really empowering. That is a massive compliment – people recognize that I care about other things.’

Australia was the third most represented country in the annual askmen.com 99 Most Desirable Women list behind the US and the UK. Australian models Emily Scott (No. 44), Megan Gale (No. 48), Myer rival Jennifer Hawkins (No. 64) made the list along with singer Sophie Monk, who came in at 71.

AskMen.com’s Australian editor Emma-Kate Dobbin said it was great to see so many Australians in the poll. ‘It’s clear that men around the world love Aussie women,’ she said.

The British actress – who was recently named the Sexiest Woman Alive by the US edition of Esquire magazine – insists she has the same insecurities about her appearance as every other woman.

She said: “I’ve always had doubts about my looks. Most women have body issues and I’m no different.”

In 2004, Kate was plagued by rumors she’d had a boob job after she had to gain 14lbs for her role as Ava Gardner in the movie ‘Aviator’.

The 26-year-old actress admits she let the rumors get to her and regrets ever getting sucked into the Hollywood machine.

She added to Reveal magazine: “We were suddenly talking about breasts – not brains. At one point I felt as though everyone was out to get me. I was having everything examined from my cellulite to my choice of films. I had allowed my self to be flattered when all this talk of breasts started because I assumed it meant I looked good. But when I found out it meant I had horrible boobs I was taken aback. I began to wonder why I cared about things which, essentially, don’t matter at all.”

Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel will be featured in Absolut ads to be introduced on Thursday at a party in New York. The ads are part of a campaign by the New York office of TBWA/Chiat/Day, part of the TBWA Worldwide unit of the Omnicom Group.

In keeping with an Absolut tradition, the ads are being photographed by a well-known fashion shutterbug, Ellen Von Unwerth.

The ads carry the theme “Every drink is an exceptional experience,” extending a recent campaign for Absolut that carries the theme “Doing things differently leads to something exceptional.”

All the ads are part of an ongoing effort to portray what TBWA/Chiat/Day calls “an Absolut world” of special, offbeat or unusual events, people and things.

Among the drinks featured in the ads are the Absolut Bloody Mary, the Absolut Cosmopolitan and the Absolut Crush (made with fresh-squeezed juice).

The ads may represent the first time that actors have appeared in an Absolut campaign. The brand, sold in this country by Pernod Ricard USA, is planning in the new year to introduce ads in collaboration with the director Spike Jonze.

KATE Beckinsale has to wear wigs in movies — because her daughter doesn’t like it when she changes her hair!

The Whiteout star says Lily Mo Sheen — her child with former flame Michael Sheen — rules the roost when it comes to fashion.

“My daughter gets upset if I do anything different with how I look,” Beckinsale said. “If I come into the room looking any different — like if I change my hair, she’ll tell me straight.

“She tells me when I look horrible. Which is partly why I haven’t cut my hair — I wear wigs in my movies. She really tells me when I get it wrong – but she tells me when I get it right too.”

Kate, 36, recently revealed that it’s unlikely she’ll be slipping back into her rubber catsuit for another Underworld movie because she doesn’t want Lily to see her mom in rubber.

“I was only ever going to be in the first one but if they came up with an amazing script I wouldn’t be averse to it,” she said. “I don’t think my daughter needs to see my bottom in rubber for another ten years. “But I don’t know — I heard they’re talking about a fourth one but I don’t know if that’s officially happening.”

Kate Beckinsale was mortified after she was branded the Sexiest Woman Alive – and she hates admitting she’s the owner of the title.

The Underworld star was handed the honour by Esquire magazine earlier this year, knocking beautiful Halle Berry off the number one spot.

But the bashful Brit insists she has struggled to cope with the alluring name – and finds it hard when people quiz her over her new sexy status.

She says, “It’s such a nice thing to happen and then immediately it’s mortifying.

“Somebody came up to me in the street and went ‘are you the sexiest woman alive?’ And I went ‘yes,’ and then I thought, ‘Errrggh I can’t say yes to that!’

“I should be shot on sight for that, it’s awful!”
